There is an article in the Herald on Sunday (24th October 2010) about 1-day selling fake Ab Circle Pro exercise equipment – read more about it here.
According to the article, the sole NZ importer of Ab Circle Pro “has taken action against a Hamilton-based web company for allegedly selling cheaper Chinese imitations of the device”. There is no comment in the article from either 1-day or Brand Developers (the Ab Circle Pro importers), but 1-Day have commented about it on their Facebook page in two posts (here and here), saying that they recalled the exercise device as soon as they found out they were not genuine.
Will be interesting to see how this one plays out, there is a high court hearing scheduled in Hamilton next month on the subject.
Brand Developments also took action against Trade Me in 2008 regarding the sale of fake Ab King Pro equipment; in that case a “confidential settlement” was reached.
